This has to be one of the best sound recordings of these works I know. The instruments are recorded rather closely, which gives great warmth and depth to the sound stage. I found myself continually being drawn in to the performances.

I have not yet purchased this SACD because of its exorbitant price, but hope to in the future. I just want to make a remark about Klemperer's interpretation, which was the one which first exposed me to this incredible work. The Jochum recording of Bruckner's 5th is, in my view, the greatest interpretation of have ever heard. I look forward to listening to the SACD, which, at this point, is prohibitively priced.

I fully agree that the sound on the My Fair Lady SACD is highly disappointing.

Whether one appreciates Connie Francis or not, one cannot go wrong with this new SACD. Povee Chan has done a splendid job remastering these sides, and in so doing retrieves natural and warm sound from these not-so-new recordings.
