Frankly, I am really surprised this disc had no reviews. I am going to start this review with this quote from the press release that got me to buy this disc. It is:

"Cannes, 24 January 2003 – The Netherlands most successful rock band, Kane, has been recognised at the 5th Annual International Surround Conference & Show for its first multi-channel Super Audio CD, So Glad You Made It. For the band’s record company, BMG-Netherlands, this album represents one of its first Super Audio CD releases and demonstrates the power and sophistication of this new high-resolution surround sound format.

Last month’s 2nd Annual Surround Music Awards, presented in Beverley Hills, California, saw Kane named as winner of the Horizon Artist of the Year Award for its album, So Glad You Made It. The award recognises an up-and-coming artist who has embraced surround music over the past year and produced music that takes ‘full and thoughtful advantage of the medium.’"

The full press release is here http://www.superaudio-cd.com/news119.html.

So, does it live up to this hype? Absolutely. Want to prove to DVD-A fanboys that SA-CD is just as effective with rock music from recent artists? Looking for another disc to join 'Sea Change', 'Heathen', 'Up' (Peter Gabriel) and 'Avalon' as a stunning rock disc? Just want to listen to some interesting new music in stunning hi-res? Then this disc is for you. Hunt it down and enjoy.

I wasn't going to buy this record, because to be honest Kane is one of my pet hates. Being from the Netherlands (like Kane are) you are confronted by little girls telling you Kane is the best band in the world. Which of course is just as unlikely as their other opinions like Britney Spears is the best female vocalist in the world. These opinions are based on things like sex appeal and hype, not on quality.
But to be honest, ready all kinds of rave reviews in serious media made me get over my prejudice and I bought this record last week.
Having listened to it about four times in this last week I must conclude that things are far from as bad as I was expecting things to be. Well things aren’t bad at all. Of course there are some tracks that aren’t that great but overall this is a solid album. With amazing sound quality.
If you like popular rock, and are willing to try something new you should hunt down this disc. You will not be disappointed.

This is one of the best SACD's in surround sound, that I have in my collection of almost 70 SACD's. The multi-channel sound is fantastic. It lifts the songs of Kane (band from the Netherlands) even more. In particular 'Rain Down On Me', 'Free' and the beautiful 'So Glad You Made It' are excellent rock songs. It is a pleasure to listen to this SACD, because the music is great and the surround sound is fitting to the 21st century. If you like rock, buy this SACD. You will not be disappointed. Why isn't this excellent SACD available at the Amazon Shops? This I do not understand.

Woah... That is harsh surround but still nicely balanced ! I don't know this band (I'm not Dutch, not a little girl either) but it is strong, heavy and I'm very happy I bought it because of your reviews...
