Also have some of her previous efforts on Gold RBCD......

Stunning 5.1 sonics.

Really wish they'd release Janis Ian's Between The Lines in 4.0 (like the QUAD LP) or I'll just settle for SACD stereo. Brilliant album, stunningly recorded.

Delighted to hear you've heard and enjoyed Lori's Blu, rammie! It's fabulous in all respects!

+1 on Quad Janis! :-D

And I learned the truth at thirty one, the beauty queen I married, plumped up....and was no longer fun.

Just joking ;)

Will have to e~mail AF's Marshall Blonstein and petition for Janis' inclusion on their possible multichannel SACD "launch!"

Do, the same, Fred......safety in numbers.

Addenda: Just e~mailed Marshall about Janis Ian and another favorite: Joan Baez "Diamonds & Rust" originally released on A&M in QUAD.

Hope my prayers are answered.

I checked register.com, and hi-res-audio.net and .org are both available. That would be a good name

I still haven't decided to make a change but I have a (similar but snappier) name reserved. Thanks for your suggestion.

Received an e~mail today from Audio Fidelity's Marshall Blonstein: Diamonds and Rust (Joan Baez) is a NO go due to the unusable QUAD masters and Janis Ian was recently released on Vinyl so a no go for that title as well. Our only hope for Between the Lines (Ian) is that SONY releases it on BD~A!

A real pity that SONY's upcoming BD~A titles, with few exceptions, are a rehash of previous SACD releases and that the literally hundreds of QUAD titles Columbia released in the early 70's will probably meet the same fate as Diamonds and Rust QUAD master.......Unusable!

I used to contribute here regularly and my SACD collection is approaching 1000. But in the last two or three years I kind of dropped out. I was seeing too many Furtwaengler reissues and not enough stuff by musicians actually working today. And the the forum was filled with petty tyranny from the likes of canonical. It just got to be too much!

I still checked in about once a month to see if there were new releases I was missing, but that's about it. So when I came on today, it was a shock! A PLEASANT shock!

I'm interested in listening to music I like played by the best artists in the world presented in the best resolution possible. It seems like the music and artists part had gotten lost amid the strident militancy about the format. Now, at least, fresh air!!

Thanks zeus for making this change. It's fabulous!

I made some time today searching for some news to counterbalance audioholik's fatal Thread, title of which comes from a sensationalised blown-up quote of the linked article's author (Aaron Souppouris himself), heralding "Blu-ray is dying faster than expected"

This is your third attempt to get a similar point out, though I'm not sure of its relevance here.

Of "relevance" :

We have taken some research soundings, as well as examining the desk research that's available to all of us, to tell us how many Blu-ray players there are in the world. Because of the numbers, we know we don't face the same hurdle that we did with SACD. We have our SACD numbers historically, so we have some evidence of what we were able to achieve. It wasn't really bad, despite Universal eventually walking away from the format...
