Really? Just that work and no fillers? Shameful.

What's interesting is that it is a live recording, yet I am sure the symphony didn't have a 45 minute program that night.

Could sound terrific. It was recorded by SoundMirror.

I am looking forward to this release, despite the short length, to be better than the lame Pentatone disc. Don't know much about this orchestra, though. Anybody heard them?

I have been the fortunate recipient of several of their past CD releases on their own TSO Live label and many of them are outstanding in every way. So, while I have not heard this one (yet), it is one I will definitely get to.

Definitely will be getting it. If there are other recordings that day, most likely Chandos is keeping it for another release :)

Presumably this is the concert.

Obviously Chandos couldn't release Wang doing the Prokofiev 2 for contractual reasons, but it would have been nice to get the Kevin Lau piece assuming it would have fit.

Not to be Chandos' apologist, but Sheherazade is the only work on the program that's in the public domain, does not have an solo artist under a recording/performance contract, and does not have mechanical's to be paid for recording, let alone permissions.

Recording/producing a recording is not as simple as it appears on the surface.

Shortly after the one mentionned above, another Sheherazade concert was completed with Yuja Wang playing the first movement of Tchaikovsky concerto 1.

Maybe the disc was recorded at that occasion. (Chandos just says "June 2013")

Imagine the negative reactions here if they included that movement on the SACD. ;-)
