Anyone else hear some static in this?

I have it.

Can you say a bit more about this "static"?

I just played it (albeit the ripped ISO file via JRiver) and heard no static sort of noise. It has excellent dynamic range, so I had to turn it way up to get to boogie volume, but still nothing that sounds like a static sort of noise.

I have this also, stereo SHM SACD in the plastic jewel box. Sounds perfect.

How about right at the beginning of track 5 in the left channel. Lots of clicks right there.

You're right, there's some clicky noises that sound like snaps of static electricity. Man I wish I had your hearing :)

While we're at it-- is this worth the sonic upgrade over the redbook version or not?

Thanks. I'm glad it's just not only on my disk and no others. I thought maybe I had a defective one.
