Luukas, I always enjoy your reviews. They were relevant, short, sharp and sweet, even Pentatone quoted a portion on their website in their DG remastered Vasary's Mozart piano 14 & 16 edition. Keep it up!

Thanks!

Therein lies the problem.

The purpose 0f a review is to give a potential customer the most information possible, so he or she can make a proper purchase decision.

If you can't write in that manner, then find something else with a better potential future.

Massive quantities of one-liner reviews does no one any favours except for the reviewer, and will make you a laughing stock if it hasn't yet.

That's probably the main reason Zeus eliminated the User reviews from the new site.

Hi Iain, tell it to Pentatone then, that they made a 'laughing stock' of themselves by quoting an excerpt of Luukas's review on their web-site.

My issue is that the site has unilaterally decided that the 'official' reviewers are automatically better than anyone else contributing reviews to the site. That is utterly untrue. I am not comfortable with record labels quoting reviews on this site in support of their releases whoever wrote them. Magazine reviews are subject to editorial and peer control and whilst we have the right to dis-agree with them they are probably more authentic. I would be much happier with numerous comments and forum remarks than 'official' reviews.

I applaud Luukas' unbridled enthusiasm.

He may only be a high school student but the fact that he plays the violin is more than I can say for most of us.

Hopefully, he'll persue his musical career but "laughing stock" were harsh words, indeed, for the bravura this young man has shown since posting on SA~CD.net!

Sometimes, more is said in a one line review than a pompous overblown dissertation!

Iain is just a lapdog for Stephen. Is that what this site (and I include the new url) has become, yet another place for arrogant people to congregate?
