Just thought I'd make one final effort, before the forum rides off into the sunset, to encourage BIS to carry on with the Opening Doors series (especially the Brahms symphonies).

Didn't Qobuz say they were coming to the US at some point? ("Watch this space") Maybe I just dreamed it. ;-)

When I see it happen then I'll believe it.

I won't, until I have to.

Regarding Open Doors, we'll continue.

Glad to hear it. I know there have been a few super-audio cycles already (including one on BIS), but I reckon the SCO could really reinvigorate Mendelssohn's symphonies. It would also be great to have a cycle of Liszt's symphonic poems on SACD. But I'm getting greedy . . .

Most of the new BIS releases no longer have the SACD logo on the front cover--any particular reason?

Oh yes, they do, but outside of the shrink-wrapping, so it doesn't "destroy" the cover art, once opened. The the spine clearly sys "SACD" for storing.

...how come someone else has this in 24 bits ...

If Onyx are saying the original recordings were made in other than 24/96 then chances are someone has been doing a bit of file manipulation the question is who but perhaps we are now getting a bit off topic!

The answer was actually from that label's distributor and, frankly, I don't believe that anyone nowadays would record such repertoire in anything but 24 bits, but it is still odd if that label's distributor doesn't have the 24-bit version (if there is one) and yet the 24-bit is distributed (if it is)...

It's getting confuseder and confuseder...
