Oh YES !
At least, music of Rossini I wait eagerly in SACD multichannel !
I listen very often the Rossini overture (Italiana in Algeri) we can find in the Beethoven 7th release by Fischer/Channel classics too.
If the music and sound have the same quality, this SACD is for sure a winner !

Do you know what's on it? Seems a bit odd to get so excited without even knowing what's going to be on the disc...

Why not? Given that the Rossini overture on the Beethoven disc was very good, given Fischer's track record and Channel's reputation for great recording quality I too am waiting this release with keen anticipation what ever may be on it.

Hmm. Strange title. "Instrumental" music would imply chamber music.

Maybe a combination of overtures and string sonatas?

Or some kind of arrangement for orchestra?
I guess we'll just have to wait for more details.

Ah yes, it could be the Britten arrangements...

I hope someone can post the content as soon as it’s been official or found - I'm curious!
I don’t know if this is already known here, but they will record Brahms 2 this year, according to an "official" report somewhere on internet. I like that idea too!

And we'll get a new Mahler 4, too.
