RCA continues to record and release the Zinman Mahler series for SACD, and now this Cherubini. Is it too optimistic to hope they're putting their toe back into SACD waters and considering jumping back in? Well, at least wading? The resumption of RCA Living Stereo SACD releases would be most welcome.

Perhaps as CDs sales continue to dive, some of these companies will take fresh look at SACD, tap into its small, but enthusiastic market, and try to expand that market. Or, did I just wake up in an uncharacteristically optimistic mood this morning?

This SACD was released in 2007 already.

Here's a list of reviews: http://www.andreabacchetti.net/pages/Cherubini.htm

No idea why some UK stores show it with a new May 2009 release date.

Bachetti's more recent SonyBMG recording of Galuppi works was not released on SACD.

Sounds like early Mozart. He plays on a Fazioli piano - must be good :)

I'm in ... just pre-ordered my copy.
