Hi everyone,

Yes, yes, yes ... the "WOW" factor is key here ...

I'm conducting a demo soon and wanted to know which multichannel tracks you like to use when you wish to knock the socks off your friends, family, colleagues, etc.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Cheers,
Dan

Wow, only 2 members of this forum listen to music outside of classical? Or is it that many of you listen in stereo only? Seriously, I expected a much bigger list than this.

Thanks for the recommendations that were given. I've got those nailed already.

Well I listen to pop/rock and thought about replying earlier but figured that people would have my top 10 selection covered, evidently not well here goes:-

Avalon Roxy Music (especially the track India)
Dark Side Of the Moon Pink Floyd
Greatest Hits Carpenters (Calling Occupants of interplanatary Craft)
UP -Peter Gabriel (Astounding in multi Channel but not to everyones taste)
Playing the Angel Depeche mode
Dire Straits Brothers in Arms
Machine Head - Deep Purple
Jeff Wayne War of the Worlds
Elton John - Captain Fantastic
Emerson Lake and Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery

there are also bits with wow factor on various Moody Blues Albums best "Is to our Childrens children"

The above are my current faves at the moment but the problem is that there is very little pop available on SACD and the vast majority is hard to get or is vanilla stereo. And while I am sure that other people on this site listen to rock/pop the number of releases of classical far outstrips other generes so I feel that this site is becoming a classical niche SACD only which is something I am not happy about

Genesis third box set. Espesially Supper's ready from Foxtrot album. Not so much surround effects to be annoying.
