Hi there, just wanted to give an update. My original audio configuration: was an Onkyo universal player (DV-SP502) and a Yamaha A/V receiver (RX-V659) (connected via analogue outputs) and B&W bookshelf speakers. Some months ago I replaced the onkyo and bought an Oppo BDP-95. All by itself was a great and pleasantly improvement in all aspects of sound. But in november I upgraded my A/V receiver to an Onkyo TX-NR809. This receiver supports DSD over HDMI so I decided to go that way....WOW!!! Now I can hear every little nuance! I didn't imagine how much both, the receiver and conection, would improve the whole thing!
To be honest I bought the AIC SACD because of one song: I Stay Away, and the first time I listened it in this format I was desappointed with the strings backgrounding the chorus, they were lost somewhere in the rear channels. DSD has given life to them!!! Every instrument and detail has turned in to something present. Guitars, voices, etc.
In fact, I have completely rediscovered all my collection. I have to say that Duran Duran's SACD is included here. Not a 3 star yet but a strong 2.
No doubt that the better the audio set, the better the audio experience!
