Hmm, that just piqued my curiosity -- wuld you be able to direct me further for more info on this? Part of my metier, and am (perhaps blissfully) ignorant about the views held by these two on that. Feel free to PM if you prefer. Thanks!

OK, already found some indications of where things stand. Very sorry to learn that. Saddening. Kudos to Fischer for speaking out.

Glad you found the information (though I noticed that there is little up-to-date info on the internet). Saddening indeed.

Ivan's older brother Adam and pianist Andras Schiff have been even more vocal about the repressive policies of the current regime.

I thought the New Yorker piece from this summer discussed things fairly well, including the Fischer/Kocsis split: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/06/02/notes-of-dissent

Since it came out, I wanted to buy Ivan Fischer's newest Brahms 2 in my local megastore (Ludwig Beck in Munich), but up until now they haven't had it in stock. This is not (!) because Beck is not on top of ordering the newest discs, for if there is any B&M store which stocks literally anything that comes out in terms of classical, including SACD, and straight after release (!), it's Beck. All my classical SACDs I buy here, and up until recently also Channel Classics's.
Is there a current problem with Channel's distribution?

Still not available in US---- Just available 2 days ago in UK. I ordered mine from my favorite UK site. I'll no doubt post my initial reactions when I get it from across the pond.

Fausto,
I will have my team look into what is happening. In the distribution business at the moment there are some nervous people and companies. Needless to say Beck should have this new Brahms in stock.
thanks for your continued support.

Castor's review of the Brahms 2 /showreviews/10220#10921 makes me even more hungry for this disc!
