Performance:   Sonics:
Fans of this great singer will no doubt dive quickly into this latest release now available on SACD. But if the audience is limited to just those it would truly be a shame as this is both sonically and artistically a wonderful effort from a team of music lovers.

Not having a long history in opera and opera singers, I obtained a ticket from a friend who could not attend his concert in New Jersey last year. It was an eye opener and Andrea has a charisma and devotion to his craft that is abundant both in his passion and execution.

This album is one of several I've heard and overall the best for its balanced approach to the art and also due to the selection of songs. It is not syrupy sentimental despite the title. The delivery is matched by the accompanying music superbly, to a degree not heard on other works such as Romanza and Toscana.

Elevating this work to SACD puts it by far in the top five of my small collection of 60 titles.

Not to be missed and it must be heard in its entirety. A masterpiece.
