Performance:   Sonics:
Saties music seems to hover timelessly between classic / romantic /avante garde / minimalistic /and serialism. It never seems to get into the pianist hitting the keys too hard and can sound shallow and unrewarding over an hour of listening.
I think its because I prefer the orchestral arrangements of these works as I have grown up listening to them rather than the piano solos.
To me this is played very classicly with a simple clarity that suits a lot of these works.Im slightly less impressed with this than the Mozart and especially the excellent Debussy or others but It is another bargain ,well recorded and interesting. Dave
