The works performed here come from the beginning of the 20th century, between 1903 and 1907 to be precise. “The piano occupies a central position in Debussy’s creative world,” writes Harry Halbreich. “It is all the more surprising to note that, alone among is contemporaries, Debussy affirmed his creative personality on the piano much later than in other domains of composition. Both qualitatively and quantitatively, his piano works date mainly from his latter years.” Of rare delicacy, Philipe Bianconi’s playing finds in these pages an ideal setting to blossom and allows each note to breathe with the ardor of new approaches. Thus, under his fingers, Debussy’s universe gives off deep and unknown perfumes. For, Philippe Bianconi knows how to build a unique atmosphere that is his alone, without in any way distorting the essence of the music. A sound recording in pure DSD of the highest quality, this SACD will bewitch your summer nights for a long time to come.
