I am quite happy with the performance especially the Prokofiev. The Glazunov is the weakest one and lacks a bit of passion.
My main problem is the audio quality which everybody rates as 5 stars.

Just got this SACD a few days ago and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The first impression is that Martin Ostertag makes this music very enjoyable to listen to, one is not tempted to only play a few tracks, I just let it run. In comparison Pierre Fournier playing sounds more academic.

I have quite a few interpretations of these charming songs, including Von Stade, Davrath , and Dame Kiri, the big plus is that Veronique Gens is French speaking and you can hear that her Auvergne accent sound genuine. As the previous reviewer I really enjoyed this recording. I also have the Ton Koopman Bach complete organ works which consist of 16 RBCD's and cd no 4 which contains these sonatas is actualy my favorite cd. So why get this one?? Maybe I am a Bach addict but I am not sorry to have bought it the organ ... more |

| For me great performances is essential, and then to top it all not all SACD's recording quality are great, I have many RBCD's that sounds better than lots of my SACD's.
And lets not talk about anything else than classical music.
If you are a modern jazz lover SACD is a non starter. My tastes are varied

| Unfortunately I love music too much to restrict myself to SACD's or Hi-Rez downloads, so much great music is just not available in these formats.
You remind me of a friends that just bought a big hidef television and that will only watch Bluray movies (never mind the content)

| The answer I am looking for is the Oppo as good as the so called high end players
like Esoteric, DCS, Accuphase, Playback Design etc.
Features required are purely for a stereo set up and money should not be taken into consideration.
