A wonderful performance by Lang Lang, though I might quibble a bit with some of the tempos. However, I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed with this CD. I have NOT given this CD this highest Performance Rating (even though it DID receive the 2004 Grammy for Best Orchestral Performance) due mostly to the conducting. Another spectacular recording from MTT and the SFS! The tempos are all deliciously convincing, and the clarity is of the highest caliber! A decent transfer of this much-loved recording! The quality of sound is okay, but not great. I am assuming this to be due to the quality of the original masters.
