Man Oh Man! This is a GOOD one. IMHO this is such a good disc that I suggest if you are in any way a Stan Getz fan, there is a space in your SACD library with the label: Stan Getz Quartet 'Pure Getz' written on it. I believe that every single aspect of this SACD deserves AT LEAST a five star rating.

Listening was done in 2 channel stereo.

Hi,
With the advent of the new HIREZ formats I've become a Jazz neophite. Fortunately the music shop here in Toronto L'Atellier Grigorian has people who know music so at least I get some enlightened opinions. One of the staff is a jazz drummer and has ben guiding me to the "must have's" for my Jazz sacd library. The first one was Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" (can you believe that there's a hardcovered book based on this album) and the second is Getz "Pure Getz".

i"ve been listening in the mltich mode and find it soo clean, it's a real treat and will be enjoyed often.

Based on the two previous posts I decided to pick up Pure Getz. I'm sure glad I did! This is a stellar performance of Stan Getz's late period. The recording is remarkably clear making you feel like your right in the recording studio with Getz and his quartet. I enjoyed every track on this SACD, especially Blood Count. This SACD definitely comes recommended…

Listening was also done in 2-channel stereo.

Ive had this disc since the early days when I started collecting sacd's. Among the first sacd's I purchased were from the Concord label and they are all terrific titles.

This disc is from the later part of Getz recording life and sports awesome sound. The recording and the transfer are fantastic with a meaty and lifelike sax sound, and a great backing band.

The music has a touch of bee bop in the more recent style of jazz but also has some romantic songs as well.

This title is considered by many Getz lovers to be one of his very best albums and that it sounds so great is all that much better.
If you love more recent jazz..lets say from 1974 til 1998.......give the Concord jazz titles a try. You will not be dissapointed.

Highly recommended with top sonics.

Lots of air here. As usual Concord have mixed a very discrete and active use of sides. One of the best jazz recordings I have in this format. Think Matt Bianco or Herbie Hancock's Gerswin's World. A must have.
