I'm not a big jazz enthusiast, I own three jazz albums, the first two of them are Miles Davis wich I love and allso is the reason why I started to buy jazz albums. I bought this album about six months ago, well spent money I must say!
This is a really nice album, with it's various artists it's a good introduction to both jazz music and multichannel SACD. I can listen to it at almost any time, but I must warn about this album may get a little boring when listening to the whole album in one sitting. The 5.1 mix is ok, although a year ago I would have said the opposite because the rear channels are only used for ambience, as all Opus3 multichannel SACD's.
The sound is transparent and couldn't get much better, recommended!

An Opus Jazz sampler that has the widest, deepest soundstage I have ever heard. Lots of traditional jazz here with some dixieland and organ jazz thrown in for good measure. This would be a great demo disc to showcase SACD format. Excellent.
