The best shirt ever (?) captured on a cover :-). This disc swings like crazy. It's a guitar album full of straight ahead jazz tunes. I do not think sonically there are any criticisms to be had on this recording. Full bodied driving bass, direct and tuneful electric jazz guitar (two of them), tasteful drumming and spacious soundstaging. Just how I like it.

Japanese label Three Blind Mice is well know for its wonderful sound. The Swing Journal awarded this recording a 'Best Engineering Award' in 2007.

Shoji Yokouchi (Right channel) has a wonderfully fat tone and Toru Konishi (Left channel) is very rythmic as his partner. This album is funky, happy and upbeat and with some blues thrown in for good measure.

7 tracks, 3 originals by Mr. Yokouchi and a John Lewis (2 East 3 West), a Jimmy Sherman (Lover Man) and a Hammerstein tune (Softly as in a morning sunrise). I like the 'Swinging on camel' track - these guys have a sense of humor :-)

This is a famous jazz disc in Japan, for good reasons the performances are great and the recording are very good, so this is a very musical Stereo SACD, only the cover photo not good.
It already sold out in two japanese stores I use buy, so I had to pay higher price in UK.
This is a unusual Jazz Quartet with two e-guitars, ac-bass and drums, the liner notes are extensive but only in japanese as usual on ThreeBlindMice Jazz releases, the disc package also are the usual TBM cartoon mini LP envelope, a romantic remembrane to vinyl lovers, more durable than the plastics cases and also takes up less space.
It was recorded in Stereo analogue tape in 16Mar1976 at Epicurus Studio(Tokyo), time is 42:31, Barcode 4582192931431 there is some hiss only audible in quiet passages, the transients are explosive in seven beautiful tracks.
