Now, this ought to be excellent. So looking forward to some good Delius.

The Bergen Philharmonic seems to be doing more recordings without maestro59 these days and for Chandos rather than BIS. I suppose when maestro59 leaves next year and Edward Gardner takes over they'll be exclusively with Chandos as EG appears to be contracted exclusively to Chandos.

Delius travelled around a bit obviously.

This will be followed in February by 'Mendelssohn in Birmingham' (Symphonies 4 and 5 plus Hebrides) with the CBSO and Edward Gardner. SACD and surround download). Will this be the first original surround recording of the CBSO?

The Bergen website specifically mentions that Litton will continue the Prokofiev symphony cycle on Bis. The Litton website indicates they will be performing the Symphony #5 in late January and the Scythian Suite in April. That will make quite the next release!

It will be interesting see what Gardiner/Bergen choose to record for Chandos going forward. And on SACD.

I think this is fantastic news for all collectors. The CBSO have been exclusively EMI in the past under SSR and AN. Media people rate Gardner so maybe a new golden era coming and on SACD. :-))

hiredfox, is that a double chin you're sporting, perhaps predicated by an overindulgence of kidney pie and plum pudding during the holiday season?
