The following is a list of SA-CDs in the database flagged as having multichannel content only (namely no stereo):

/multichannelonly.php

Do you have any of these? Is everything on this list correctly flagged? Are there any others? As before, if there's errors use the corresponding "report errors" link so the database can be updated.

(Note that having stereo isn't mandated by the format. The decision could come down to available space etc.)

Thanks!

I should add that I'm interested in the actual contents of the disc, not necessarily what's reported on the back cover.

While I have your attention, there are still plenty of titles in the database with no barcode recorded:

/nobarcode.php

If you have any of these it should be pretty simple to flip the disc over, look for the numbers below the barcode and send this as an update with "report errors". This information is required to link the title to vendors offering it for sale.

I have the Beethoven, Mozart and Wagner in the Eloquence series. These three have stereo-CD layer but no stereo SACD. The SACD stereo only comes through as 'downmix' on all the SACD players I've had.

Thanks. I'm confident on the Eloquence series but the reason why many of the others are flagged as multichannel only is clouded in time. It seemed worthwhile to check.

"SACD Surround Sound Reference Disc" has multichannel SACD and Stereo SACD layers. There is no CD layer.

"The Big Picture - Kunzel" has multichannel SACD and CD layers. There is no stereo SACD layer.

Confirming that Bach: Goldberg Variations - Swiss Chamber Soloists has only a MCH SACD program (and a RBCD layer). On my Marantz player, set for two-channel priority, it downmixes to two channels.

For missing bar codes, none of the listed releases on the Saidera label have bar codes on the packaging - at least of the five that I own.

Never noticed these Eloquence disks before. Just snagged the Grieg on Amazon ultra-cheap. Seller says he can't play it on his stereo machine.

Le Sacre - Debussy, Stravinsky is in fact multichannel-only plus (stereo) CD layer.

I don't have this but I believe the stereo just says there's no stereo. So it's essentially multichannel only.
