It is very good to have Gardiner's Mendelssohn cycle with London Symphony Orchestra! I'm looking forward, when this releases!

Judging from the sound samples, the pianist sounds tame and lifeless.

No problems with the finished disc I am pleased to report. Classic Sound have certainly improved their recording techniques in this difficult location. What with a BD of the concert plus SACD , this, and its companion disc, must be the disc bargains of the year.

Totally agree. SACD + Blu-Ray Audio + The concert (24/48 stereo) at under £8 plus free delivery from Amazon - what a bargain!
