I'm with you all the way on that one Mark regarding including DR data in reviews. Such information isn't always out there and even if it is, it's certainly not mainstream information and as such, is valid review content. If reviews are to be worthwhile, they can't only be subjective like it/dislike it blurbs because it's the objective stuff such as DR score, mastered by Mr Masterguy and so on that provides the foundation for the subjective points of view because they're immutable facts...unlike points of view!

Nice one Ralph, something to look forward to, but in the meantime, you've just selected my m/c treat for tonight, On An Island...

I was thinking the same, Derek. Love On An Island and wish they'd reissue that in lossless surround although it does sound more than adequate in lossy.

Sweet sounds and a good idea to post a pic of the David Gilmour cover because as you know, the On An Island 5.1 mix was added to the 4-Disc set of Live In Gdansk without much fuss or fanfare. I sometimes wonder whether there are too many head chefs cooking [whatever it is they cook] and not enough thought going into what's being cocked up. The record industry's point of view sometimes seems to be, to quote my niece, meh.

One can purchase the David Gilmour Live @ Gdansk 4 disc set used at Amazon for $19 + s/h (used, like new) and I urge anyone with an interest to purchase it but as Derek alludes to.....putting the DTS/DD 5/1 On An Island on this multiple disc set WAS a 'strange' (but honorable) choice.

IMHO, having the chockful 2 DVD Gdansk set (including On An Island in 5.1) on one BD~V with 1080p pic and 24/96 sound would be an even MORE honorable upgrade.

I'm sure it would sell well as the hundreds of poster reviews @ Amazon unanimously awarded Live at Gdansk (4~disc set) a 5 star review.

Another interesting tidbit of info: http://classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2014-04-30/wakeman-reveals-journey-and-return-special-editions

But so far, NO word on a 4.0 remix!

Oops, OLD news....sorry but hope springs eternal for a 4.0 remix of this classic LIVE album but it was interesting to read that A&M records only allotted Wakeman £4000 towards the recording and Rick had to mortgage everything to complete the album....which is the reason it was recorded LIVE and NOT in the studio (would've been more expensive).

BTW, Journey to the Center of the Earth did have a CD~4 Quadradisc release so perhaps the best we could hope for is a needle drop from the discrete CD~4 vinyl on DVD~A. http://eil.com/images/main/Rick+Wakeman+%2D+Journey+To+The+Centre+Of+The+Earth+%2D+Quad+%2D+LP+RECORD-537833.jpg
