Very nice stuff; a big step up in functionality, it seems.

But do sthg about the typography, please. Things like the side headings are too cramped (need to be spread out more) and the typeface & font are not ideal (need to be more bold, maybe bigger & different typeface; the current ones are much better). Altogether looks too much like the stuff we did with Quark way back when = too home-made.

Great that you guys still keep improving things further!

This an expanded version of the alltitles2 page to now enable label selection. The non-thumbnail view (alltitles) will be retired.

A fantastic and long overdue addition.

Many thanks to you and Polly for your many useful upgrades which will greatly enhance an already wonderful forum.

Nice though this praise has been to receive, all of the "structural" changes are Zeus' doing. I merely populate the structures that are put in place (as do many of you by providing reviews and contributing to discussion threads, thanks!)

My guess is you're viewing this site on a low resolution desktop. Correct? Since this is 2015 I'm targeting high resolution (retina) class devices like current model smartphones, tablets and high resolution displays. All the graphics are higher resolution than needed for an old display. Maybe you'll appreciate the choices made when you move to these newer devices/displays?

No, I'm sitting by a retina display (Macbook Pro), but actually the point is just about aesthetic preference. It's all sharp, neat, and very well done, quite obviously, but if it were me I'd use a heavier (more bold) and bigger typeface or at least font. And spread out the headings a bit (increase left-right width, not so tightly centered). Looks more modern that way. The type & font you are using are "so 80s" to borrow the favorite words of a friend's 12-year-old...

I think I know what's happening. I didn't specifically load the chosen font and there's a fall through to plain-old sans-serif for some (many?) viewers. Anyway, I'm going to play around until I find something that looks good and is more widely available.

Sounds as though you're using MS IE, which only allows the use of MS typefaces.

Switch to Firefox, which will allow the use of any typeface. For example, I use Open Type Fonts with internal PostScript data with Firefox (Fontname.otf). MS IE disallows use of these type of faces.

EDIT: There's a single configuration setting for this, otherwise Firefox will continue to use site-native fonts.

Two more updated pages:

/library2.php

My Library now makes deleting titles from your library a lot easier (just click/tap on the thumbnail and hit remove). The same for flags. If you haven't used flags before this a private indicator for your own use, whatever that may be. You can select all flagged titles from the dropdown.

I have removed the ability to rename titles as the title text now longer shows ... and you can search within your library anyway. If you had previously renamed titles this will be taken into account in the sort order. For the moment you can still use the old Library module to rename titles, though this is only taken into account for the sort order within your library.

/recommendations2.php

My Recommendations has been redone to now show your positive and negative recommendations, with stats at the top. Click/tap on the thumbnail to remove or reverse your recommendation. There is some overlap with the My Library module which enables you to select positive and negative recommendations ... but only for those titles still in your library.

On a general note recommendations are under used on this site. They account for only about a third of the total library additions. If you don't feel able to write a review, a recommendation (positive or negative) is a great way of contributing something of value to this site (more useful than using the forum to discuss 4K TV). Thanks!

All the enabled new pages should be fully functional and work on your (live) data. If you spot any errors let me know.

My Work Index is now done:

/workindex2.php

Note, the modules starting with "My" require login.

I hope you reconsider this, as, for me, the ability to rename titles to define the sort order within my library is the most useful feature of SA-CD.net.
