Yep, I keep wondering when the plug will be pulled and we'll all be in the dark.

Still, I like listening to music in the dark! I managed to listen to my newly-acquired Pink Floyd "Meddle" CD last night - thanks to Mark. Wow - I haven't listened to this album for many years and had forgotten how good it is.

I have been busy with the DR scale and getting some great RBCD's. Pretty amazing to buy a RBCD for 5-7 dollars with values of DR 12 or higher and they sound everybit as good as SOME Sacd's. The stellar SACD's of course always out play the RBCD but in my case a pure rock listener it is awesome to have the DR tool.

I'll finish my sentence on The Rock Thread.

I can't even find an option for new releases on the new site. WTH? That's 90% of the reason why I come here. Without that, what's the point of the whole site?

You can view new releases by clicking on the burger icon top right of page and selecting Music. The new site has been updated to include many releases, so the titles shown differ from the newest releases here. It's not intuitive, but the feature is there.

HRA now includes a macro button to expand all title info with one click and collapse all info with one click.

All I see under music is what appears to be completely random releases under music. I don't see the same results appearing as on the old site. How do I tell it to sort by posting date? How do I get it to display more results per page? This new interface really stinks.

I don't know how you can view more titles, but it is up to date and the titles displayed are those most recently added; it's just that sa-cd.net hasn't been updated for so long, you'd need to scroll back several pages on the new site to get it to where sa-cd.net stopped updating. It might also look different because all formats merge into one new release list. If you filter to show only new SACD releases, it takes 3 pages of new titles to get back to where sa-cd.net is as far as new releases go.

I must say I don't understand the move towards mobile websites. There are iPhone apps I like and use regularly. But for websites, I universally prefer to go to the full website rather than the mobile site, even when surfing on my phone. This includes Amazon, Ebay, and many others. The websites that force you to use the mobile site and don't provide an option to go to the full desktop site are really annoying. Personally, most sites that optimize for attractive layout on a phone degrade the functionality too much to be useful.

I'll toss this on the request pile again, because having this functionality was really helpful for me - add the ability to search by barcode to the new site.

My reservation against name and intentions of the new site are best viewed an article with the following link:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/billrosenblatt/2015/01/08/high-res-audio-makes-slow-progress-as-sony-and-neil-young-show-off-new-products-at-ces-2015/

I also wonder for what audience the new site is intended. Many here are not keen to accept the new site as replacement for sa-cd.net. Main withdrawal is the more clicks and checkboxes to be filled in to find required information. This process already started on sa-cd.net when blu-ray audio was introduced.

Also new audience will not find the new site easily. Google seems to consider the new site as a copy of the old site, which means no reviews of the new site, even the latest ones that are not on sa-cd.net, are included in search results.

It is a well know fact that sa-cd has the aura of a failed format. With the exeption of those who really listen to sa-cd's. This alone justifies a site dedicated to sa-cd only. Too bad it will disappear.
