I've been looking at this for SACD playback, has anyone hear got this/heard this and has any comments? I should be a fine player, but no harm in asking!

Music Direct has it on sale for something like $1100 USD.

I looked for reviews and did not find any that were audio oriented but it apparently is one heck of a good DVD player. It appears that it may have a DSD direct function like my Sony SCD XA 9000 ES. IF so and the DSD direct is functional in multi-channel I may get one just as a backup player.

Bruce, if you're looking for a backup player I'd advise you to get the best Pioneer, I think it's LX-50. Usually the Pioneer laser is better the Marantz (it reads more discs), and the sound is very good too.

IF one lives in the US, I fear it is not! There is a Pioneer Elite DV-58 AV that has dsd output via HDMI (for what ever that is worth) If Meitner could be persuaded to furnish his DAC-6 with an HDMI connection it would be worth a lot!

Anyway do you know anything about the DV-58, Julien?
