Fischer Kreizberg. Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto

Bought it because it was recommended in a weekly. It became a constant tease to know what that Mch would sound like. After a while I went to a store where they sold SACD systems, heard the difference and was smitten on the spot.

Miles Davis Kind of Blue. It came in the box with the Sony SACD player I purchased.

Telarc SACD Sampler 1. First SACD player is actually a universal Pioneer DV-676A-s. Thinking about it, it produces pretty reasonable sound quality and it does multichannel.

It was 2003 and my then boyfriend bought me the Hybrid SACD set of Elton John/Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as a Christmas present. I already had DTS and DVD-A's but no SACDs as no SACD playback and didn't get an SACD player until 2007 (turns out I backed the wrong horse in 2001 by not going SACD!).. I bought several SACDs in the intervening years but only ever played the redbook layers on those Hybrids.. once I'd heard SACD in all its scarlet book glory there was no turning back, I was hooked.. and nearly 11 years on I now have over 600 SACDs.. with almost 500 SACDs still to get on my sa-cd.net Wish List, its an addiction for which there is seemingly no cure!

Locke: Consort of Fower Parts - Flanders Recorder Quartet

Nice story, Adam. Actually, I started with SACDs and only later got into DVDAs. And glad I am that I did. There are many fun titles with excellent discreet surround sound. And although most titles are now OOP, I am slowly acquiring reasonably priced ones that I come across. I often check the reviews and comments (including yours :) over on QQ, which along with this site, has been immensely helpful.

My pleasure Brett :-) You certainly did the right thing going with SACD first and DVD-A later! I'm glad you're still able to pick up OOP DVD-A's, they've held heir value somewhat over the years though not as much as so many OOP SACDs, prices for a number of old SACD Surround titles have gone completely through the roof!
