For the information of all you non-Canadians, Angela Hewitt is ANOTHER Canadian Bach Keyboard maven, but not cut from the same cloth as Glenn Gould (no.1, she doesn't sing while playing). I remember Hewitt as a discovery in the '70s, so she's now a major entity, even if her reputation hasn't reached you. I haven't heard this recording (well, some on radio), but her approach is a known: she is meticulously baroque-centric, no Bach-the-Romantic for her. 'Should' and 'Ought' are words she is unafraid to use. And she is 'musical', within the metric baroque meaning of the word.
