Almost any pieces by Busoni and Sorabji would be welcome.

Hi -

This is available, though (and in the expert hands of Yuji Takahashi no less): Busoni: Six Sonatinas - Yuji Takahashi

Besides the six sonatinas, there is:

Berceuse (Elegie Nr. 7)
Indianisches Tagebuch (Book 1)
Toccata
JS Bach (attributed): Fantasie & Fuga BWV905

A superb recital that's also recorded in DSD.

Thanks--I'll look into that. I'd love to have his "Fantasia Contrapuntistica" and his arrangement of Liszt's "Ad Nos" Fantasy as well as all of his Bach organ arrangements. Oh, if only we could resurrect John Ogdon and have him record all of those pieces for 2L!!

Cesar Franck
Prelude, Choral & Fugue, Prelude, Aria & Final, and of course anything else from Franck that would fill this SACD.

Would like to see a SACD remaster, perhaps by Esoteric, of Granados Goyescas and its twin Escenas Romanticas performed by Alicia de Larrocha (I do have the Goyescas by Artur Pizarro, fine as it is, nothing comes close to de Larrocha in this composition).

Would also like to see SACD remasters of Liszt works performed by Lazar Berman, the Sonata on Columbia/CBS and Annes on DG.

George Crumb's Makrokosmos arrived in today's mail -- which raised the question: Where is its inspiration, Bartók's Mikrokosmos? Oh I suppose a Hungaroton recording is slowly working its way through the crippled Eurozone economy....

I have the mode records DVD of Crumb's Makrokosmos. After two listens, I still hate the piece. Don't think I will be listening to it again. I also have the 5 disc set of Bartok's Mikrokosmos played by Gyorgy Sando. Don't know what to make of it; it bores me.

Good point! I meant to say "for 1 piano", not that this reduces the list dramatically...
