And nobody is going to make a mechanical disk change players anymore, ever.

Sony make a couple of 400 disc Blu-Ray changers (they don't play SA-CD though as far as I am aware).

Not sure how much of a market there still is for these type of players though given how cheap HDD storage has become.

Do you have links or model numbers for these?

Are they suitable for BR audio only use?

No SACD playback. Go to Sony site, shop, choose Bluray disk and search for "changer". Two models with 400 disk capacity will come up. At least the more expensive one is out of stock, cheap one available in October.

BDP-CX7000ES ($1899)
BDP-CX960 ($599)

Apparently Sonybody still makes these!

Addendum: Sony used to have several 400 disk DVD/SACD/CD changers, but none of them are available anymore. Search Sony site for "SACD" and they will be listed.

Chris demagnetizing DOES WORK, it is NOT a placebo! In fact I firmly believe the reason so many audiophiles trade in equipment so often is because of the loss of sound quality due to their equipment becoming slightly magnetized. System maintenance is the cure for displeasure and upgraditis.

I have used an excellent DAC with my Mac Mini, the $2,000 Bryston BDA-1 http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue49/bryston.htm , which I reviewed, so I had it for slightly more than a month. In some ways it was better, but not all. And it didn't have the profoundly positive audio effect that demagnetizing does.

Whistling "Yankee Doodle" helps just as much as playing a "demagnetizing tunes" from a CD. Actually me whistling it slightly off tune here in Europe helps also Teresa's system as much as mine.

Owners of digital audio systems should have to take some kind of sanity test first...

No no no! These "audiophiles" subsidise the R&D costs for the rest of us.

Make sure you wear a tin foil hat while demagnetizing your system.

You may mock folks, but I'm with DSD on this one. Say what you will, after using the Sheffield burn-in/ demagnetiser cd, my system does sound more 'alive" and "natural". Given that it only costs a few $$$(presumably it is still available, just give it a try!!! You only have your prejudices to loose.

Please enlighten me: how does the demagnetizing with some tones work? What is the physical theory behind it?
