Very excited for this. I see it was mastered by and the surround mix is by James Guthrie, very promising release. Was DSOTM 5.1 SACD mastered by Guthrie as well? Hope so, DSOTM is what I use to show my friends how great 5.1 SACD is. Now all we need is Alan Parson's quad mixes!

My as yet unopened Immersion box has on the back of the box the fact that the 1973 4.0 mix is on the bluray disc in 96/24. The blog entry appears to be incorrect.

Thanks, that's much better. I just checked on the Steve Hoffman forum, some posters have confirmed that the Parsons 4.0 mix is on the Blu-ray

Excellent, I wasn't sure if I was going to get the Immersion but if Parsons Quad is on Bluray in 24/96 that's a no brainer.
Is the Wish You Were Here Immersion going to feature Parson's quad in 24/96 too?
I can't seem to find the info anywhere.

The Quad WYWH mix was not neccessarily (or likely) done by Alan Parsons. Alan Parsons did a DSOTM Quad Mix, true. (DSOTM was his last album as engineer for Pink Floyd.) This does not mean that all PF Quad Mixes were done by Alan Parsons.
I find it odd that everyone seems to couple "Parsons" and "Quad Mix" in the case of WYWH as well as DSOTM.
As far as I know, the authorship of the original quad (SQ) mix of WYWH in this case has yet to be determined. Alan Parsons had left association with the group, by that point, in 1975. The WYWH Quad Mix was not released until 1976; at this point Alan Parsons was well engrossed in his own 'projects' if you will, that was not Pink Floyd.
I'll try to find out who did it, but it may simply not be anything to write home about.
The Immersion set does contain the 1976 SQ Mix in dolby digital. The SACD does not include the 1976 SQ Mix.

Could it be that the tracklist is wrong in that respect, like with the DSOTM Immersion set? The DSOTM Blu-ray contains the quad mix in 24/96, although the track list of the press release doesn't mention it.

Did not know that. Thanks. Even if it isn't Parsons and the Quad is there in a lossless format I think I'd still get it. I like proper quad mixes a lot.

I don't have it at my fingertips (will look it up), but I believe the WYWR multi-channel mix is new. It believe it was done by Guthrie. My guess is that it is the same as what will eventually appear on the WYWR SACD.
Edit: Yes, Amazon indicates that the WYWR Blu_ray contains a 5.1 channel 96/24 mix (as well as a 96/24 original stereo mix track) that was completed by James Guthrie in 2009.
