Very breaking news it would appear, and something which has made my morning and perhaps my entire week. Waters' epic masterpiece on SACD, and an opportunity to grab it on vinyl as well. Missed out on the LP all those years ago, not sure it even hit the shelves in my city.

Analogue Productions, James Guthrie, there's a good pedigree here so expectations are high. Now to get The Wall in hi-res digital...

As always anything pertaining to PF or RW is great news. Will it be multichannel?

No word yet on multi-channel, not that it makes any difference in my small flat (unfortunately) but Guthrie has gone surround in the past so it's quite likely. I hope the stereo channel keeps the Q-Sound ambience though, it really was cool back in 1992 to immerse myself in the expanded soundscapes.

Analogue Productions aren't fools; they know to give the fansites as much extra information as possible and get us all salivating. While there's not much new here (although the 200gm vinyl has my turntable excited already) it does appear to answer one question. The remaster will be in 2.0 stereo and preserve the Q-Sound from twenty-one years ago.

Won't make any difference in my lounge room, but I'm sure there'll be one or two from the 'Give me Surround or give me Death!' contingent who'll moan. It's a missed opportunity for sure but I can assume the decision to keep it purely stereo came right from the top.

Anyone with a surround system who has a good DSP array on their pre/pro will extract ambient (or surround) info from the Q~Sound remaster.

Still going to add it to my must covet list!

Acoustic Sounds has 'tentatively' set October 15, 2013 as a release date for Amused To Death.

I've never heard this album, so which of the Floyd albums would it be closest to in style - if any? Thanks.

Really? I assume you are referrng to the original. I wonder where I could hear some excerpts of 'Amused to Death" as I'm obviously quite interested?
