Performance:   Sonics:
The Romero - Marriner colaborations have always given us some very fine performances on record and this one is no exception; it has been a particular favorite of mine since its release on viny in the mid-seventies. Of particular note for this new SA-CD release is the addition of the seldom-heard Sones en la Geralda.

The sound quality is as good as I have come to expect from the Pentatone RQR releases, and is a slight improvement over the original Philips LP in terms of its transparency and spatiality. Highly recommended.

Performance:   Sonics:
This is a terrific sacd. The music is very passionate and inspiring. Nice guitar work and very excellent transfer from the master tapes.
In one of the later tracks there is a trumpet blast that literally rocked me off my chair.it was very real and three dimentional sounding. But understand this is an anomoly as most of the music is for guitar and orchestra.

Not much more to add except that this is a very good sounding sacd of famous guitar concerto's and the music in question is very relaxing to listen to (watch out for the trumpet). The musicianship is also excellent.

Great work Pentatone.
