Performance:   Sonics:
This is a fantastic release. Kobayashi, of whom I had not encountered previously any disc (or live concert) is a very meticoulous and intense conductor.

From his performance of Mahler 1, it is clear that he has devoted much time and thought to the work at hand. His performance is very detailed and idiomatic; but somehow all the pieces fall together in place and the result is wonderfully unified and coherent.

The Orchestra plays gloriously. The only caveat could be that the sound they deliver is a shade to bright, but this certainly does not bother me, as we have a very individual and satisfying interpretation.

And yes.. the grunts from the conductor. It may annoy some, but I have chosen to live with them as well.

Excellent and detailed sound.
