Should really be Called Italian Opera preludes with Verdi to the for.
Nice selection of works played better that you would get in most opera theatre pits and very well recorded.Compared with the best Karajans etc it probably shows its lack of real passion and quality by a newbee conducter but this is not to discount it at bargain price as the music itself tends to rise and unless you have heard better versions you will not be unhappy.Obviously at bargain price with a varied superlative selection its a safe bet.Usual caveat about Membrans issues...
